Most dance studios offer instruction in a wide variety of dancing styles, including ballet, tap, jazz and hip-hop. Consider your talent level when deciding on dancing instruction lessons and classes for tap, ballet and jazz. If you are a beginner, target beginners dancing classes or even intermediate classes. You may have to look closer to a large city for more specialized training and routine steps, so keep that in mind. Look online for dance instruction as well, for all kinds of dances, especially jazz, tap and ballet. You may be surprised to find you can take online dance lessons and download dancing plans right from the comfort of your home. Research the latest dance steps and trends, getting up-to-date information on all dance types, such as wedding, line, belly dance, two-step, hustle, exotic, couples, Irish, country and cha cha. If you’d prefer to take dancing instructions from a private studio, meet with a few dance professionals beforehand to get a sense of professionalism, experience and overall atmosphere. Many studios will let you sit in on a teaching class first to see if you’d feel comfortable. Find out how long the dance studios have been in business, what their hours are, what their specialties are, and what their availability is. Also, inquire about class times, teacher name, instructor experience, price, group rates, couple classes, and kids’ classes. Research the studio background thoroughly as well, making sure the studio you ultimately choose has considerable experience in dance instruction. You can also look into schools, church halls, and community centers for dance instruction lessons. Before choosing a dancing instruction course or studio, keep in mind the studio’s availability, specialties, cost, directions, class times, location and experience.
